協助瓜地馬拉在極端氣候下造成糧食安全危機的省份建立玉米良種供應系統並改進生產技術，以提升小農玉米產量作為自足生產模式示範。
計畫緣由
近年因氣候異常造成小農玉米收獲短缺造成糧食安全問題，自2018年起即有文獻探討極端氣候對於瓜地馬拉及中美洲地區造成農損之紀錄，中美洲是易因極端性及多變性氣候而受影響的地區之一。2020年COVID19疫情及瓜國2020年底兩次風災更使糧食安全問題雪上加霜，尤其是乾旱地帶及Baja Verpaz， 目前國際組織認證目前瓜地馬拉的GHI飢餓指數為20.7，其飢餓指數在世界排名為在77位(指數以百分制來衡量一個國家，其中0為最佳（「不存在飢餓」）100為最差。分數低於4.9表示「低飢餓」，分數在5至9.9之間表示「適度飢餓」，10至19.9之間表示「嚴重飢餓」，20至29.9之間表示「驚人」，而30以上表示「非常令人擔憂的」飢餓問題。) ，預估到2021年瓜國飢餓人口數達3.73百萬人佔瓜國人口數23% (詳如附件)，較為嚴重地區為乾旱地帶、Alta Verpaz及Baja Verpaz省。 聯合國糧食及農業組織（糧農組織）在2018年發布的一份報告顯示，瓜地馬拉東部地區受乾旱影響最大，因6月下半月以來熱浪的影響連續34天沒有下雨，乾旱破壞了80％的玉米和豆類作物收成，西部地區， 在7至36天內沒有降雨也遭受了破壞，平均災損估計為20％，。瓜地馬拉小農多以依賴5-10月雨季時期之降雨進行栽培之看天田模式，一旦遇到乾旱及缺乏水源就只能坐視災損。2018年因乾旱造成收成下降的量相當於白玉米全國產量的17.80％，黑豆全國產量的15.84％。瓜國2017/2018農業統計資料玉米生產面積為 1,074,058公頃(2019年為925千公頃、2020年為1003千公頃，栽培面積減少)，瓜地馬拉玉米年產量為 2,605,551公噸(2019/2020年玉米總產量為1,974,405公噸，總產量降低，資料來源：瓜國統計局2019/2020瓜國農產品統計資料)，其中白玉米佔1,936,427公噸，瓜國玉米平均產量為 2,205.14 kg/公頃。2012年世界玉米平均產量為4347 kg/公頃，鄰國墨西哥平均產量為3187 kg/公頃，瓜國玉米平均產量僅世界平均值之一半，提升單位面積產量為當務之急之工作。
工作內容
資訊專長的我主要負責田間氣象站的資料收集，其中包含雨量、風向、土壤等等。配合計劃中另一位農藝專長役男在玉米生長過程中田間調查的內容。利用模型將這些雜亂無章的資料轉換成有用的資訊。並為未來計劃將建置軟體和應用程式上提供意見和想法。
而計畫中主要協助內容除了包含確認有關智慧農業導入的相關事宜並提供建議，使其內容可以更佳豐富多元外。在各個合作單位的會議中確認彼此間的內容，紀錄各方所需之重點。 亦需協助各個活動進行，使各個活動能順利進行外，增加活動的紀錄相關成果影像。
田間氣象站
這就是未來會在各個省份安裝的田間氣象站，其資料為表格形式，所以一般民眾如需閱讀，將會是滿吃力的一件事情。故計畫未來開發手機應用程式就成了非常重要，裡頭其中一個主要功能就是將這些資料做視覺化的處理。

上一張圖片中田間資氣象站所產生的資料就是儲存到這裡喔～在首都瓜地馬拉市屬於是高海拔地區，所以氣候非常的舒爽，一般家中是不太需要安裝冷氣。 所以在這個空間中我發現了這個國家第一台冷氣。XD
農科院教育訓練錄影
到了田間是不太可能有網路的，故紀錄成了我平常工作時最常被指派的任務，同梯的夥伴們也常常笑話我是影片、圖文、設備…等等不是資訊專長的頂級工具人。或許這也是會想寫一個自己的Blog的契機！？
三月份時回到首都瓜地馬拉市準備計畫簽約等相關事宜，簽約儀式前除採買簽約所需物品外，也幫忙繪製明信片作為禮品。簽約儀式中協助拍攝、錄影等工作。計畫約本簽約儀式完成後開始全力協助著瓜地馬拉大使館準備總統將拜訪瓜地馬拉一事。來訪前的主要工作內容為繪製及印製文件、製作車牌等等。來訪時作為工作室成員在飯店中架設電腦、印表機等設備。隨時待命、機動處理發生的各個事件。並於用餐時間與飯店餐廳進行溝通送餐至通訊房。
通訊房的事情說實在挺神秘的，我其實有超多問題想詢問，但礙於知道一切皆屬於國家機密也不敢白目提問。想從送餐點的夾縫中窺探一些什麼，想想就有夠刺激！（我什麼也沒看到，所以什麼都不知道，唯一知道的是他們當天吃什麼，畢竟我只是個送餐小弟）

怎麼又是在拍攝！？別擔心～第二篇文章會介紹一些有關我專業的東西！如果您的眼睛夠細膩可以發現隔壁照片有三張明信片，是我做的呦。所以頂級工具人也算自嘲了。但我挺感謝以前亂點技能樹的時光。
臺灣總統拜訪玉米攤位
Oh！WOW！是小英總統！太近了吧！我自己本身沒有政治色彩，所以也沒什麼太大的情緒起伏。不過這對技術團而言是一大殊榮！而我可以站在旁邊沾點光，滿開心的！YA！
接下來接到了國合會會內的邀請，並於四月初總統拜訪行程結束後開始拍攝外交替代役男招募活動宣傳，以下為一些當時拍攝的照片和影片～可惜的是我嘗試寫了一小段有押韻的招募詞被砍到剩下最後兩句(╥﹏╥)。
